Villa Oltremare is only a few minutes walk from Lake Liscia and is a perfect option for couples looking for a traditional summer holiday.

Villa Oltremare sits in a spacious flower-filled garden with lawned areas set between dramatic granite rocks, all surrounded by mature trees and glimpses of the neighbouring countryside. A built-in barbecue under a wooden pergola is adjacent to the swimming pool which has a paved terrace – the perfect spot from where to enjoy the garden and the views through the trees to the nearby hills. The large kitchen/diner opens on to the garden and leads through to the sitting room, with a massive stone fireplace and an arched window looking out over the garden and pool.

There are two downstairs bedrooms, one double with en-suite and a twin (or double) with stunning painted headboards. Exposed beams, whitewashed walls and country-style furniture all add to Villa Oltremare's charm. In the quiet Gallurian countryside, a short walk down a country lane will lead you to Lake Liscia surrounded by ancient oaks, Mediterranean macchia, holly oaks and arbutus.

This really is a great base from which to explore the region and neighbouring Tempio, in particular their colourful festivals and local wineries, as well as the beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda. The huge, ancient olive trees, in the village of Luras, just 20-minutes away, are also worth a visit, the oldest being over 4,000 years old.

About the Local Area

Rural location within walking distance of Lake Liscia and just a few kilometres from the small town of Sant' Antonio di Gallura which has bars and restaurants. In the opposite direction the town of Tempio offers an insight into traditional Sardinian life with it's piazzas and churches and the stunning views from the top of Monte Limbara.

Golfo di Saline
North of Cannigione beyond Laconia, this beautiful bay shelters an exquisite beach of golden sand.

Santa Teresa
Enjoy stunning views of the straits of Bonifacio over the transparent turquoise sea as you head to the dramatic headland of Capo Testa to the west of Santa Teresa. The nearby bay of Santa Reparata has some delightful stretches of beach.

Tanca Manna
Tanca Manna sits approximately 250 metres from the road behind a saltwater lake. It has a great stretch of sand and plenty of facilities for families. A kilometre beyond Tanca Manna is Barca Bruciata, a small sandy beach which is quiet with no facilities.

Cala Capra
Cala Capra beach just beyond Golfo delle Saline is a pretty sandy bay tucked beneath the impressive Capo D’Orso headland with its distinctive bear shaped weathered rock.

The Capriccioli headland has five beautiful small sandy beaches. There are facilities for boat hire and also a bar close to the beach. These beaches, including La Celvia, are amongst the most popular in the area.

Discover the exquisite coastline from the sea and enjoy the excellent conditions of the north east coast for wind-surfing, sailing, diving, snorkelling, etc.

Prehistoric Sites at Arzachena
Visit the prehistoric remains including the Albucciu Nuraghe – a bronze age tower, the Tomba dei Giganti Coddu Vecchiu and the Li Muri Necropolis, scattered around the town.

Porto Cervo
An up-market town and centre of indulgence, it is located around two yacht harbours on the north side of this dazzling stretch of coastline, and being the main resort of the area and a paradise for the jet-set, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Inland Gallura
Explore by car or on foot the dramatic mountains of the interior, the rugged countryside and the small character towns and villages. Alternatively, leave your car in Palau and take the stream train to Tempio Pausania, a spectacular journey across the Galluran countryside.

Sample traditional Sardinian cuisine in a farm restaurant. Amongst others, we recommend the Agriturismi Tenuta Pilastru, la Sasima or la Somara, all located near Arzachena.
