Situated in Cannigione, a small bustling seaside resort of north-eastern Sardinia, Residence Cala di Falco provides an excellent base for a traditional family holiday with the freedom of self-catering.

The 39 apartments are simple in design and furnished in a typical Mediterranean style, all complete with a terrace or a balcony. All apartments have access to the residence's shared pool.

Across the road, you can find the hotel Resort Cala di Falco, where guests can use the restaurant and pool facilities, subject to availability and payable locally.

There are various activities on site for children as well as light evening entertainment, though Cannigione offers a wider choice of amenities including water sports, a wealth of bars, restaurants and shops, and a couple of lovely sandy beaches – all within easy walking distance. For those who wish to sample the best beaches of the north east, why not hire a car or take a boat trip, and discover the hidden delights of the Sardinian coastline at your leisure?

 

 

Good to know

  • Mandatory deposit to be paid on arrival: €150 per apartment (refundable on departure).

  • The residence has its own pool with lifeguard, guests can use free of charge with sunbeds and deckchairs. If guests wish to use the main hotel pool it is €20 per person per day (including sunbeds). Children up to 10 are free of charge. Payable locally at hotel reception.

  • Arrival hamper includes: pasta, extra virgin olive oil, milk, tomato sauce, rock salt, bottle of still water, tea and sugar, small marmalade portion, toasted bread rusks.

  • Breakfast or dinner can be arranged locally at the resort (€26 for breakfast, €55 for dinner).

About the Local Area

ABOUT AREA

Located on the western shore of the Golfo di Arzachena, Cannigione is a small fishing port with a handful of supermarkets and restaurants. The atmosphere is normally serene however you can get the hustle and bustle of tourists in August. There are also a number of beautiful beaches to the north of the village.

BEACHES

Golfo di Saline
North of Cannigione beyond Laconia, this beautiful bay shelters an exquisite beach of golden sand.

Santa Teresa
Enjoy stunning views of the straits of Bonifacio over the transparent turquoise sea as you head to the dramatic headland of Capo Testa to the west of Santa Teresa. The nearby bay of Santa Reparata has some delightful stretches of beach.

Tanca Manna
Tanca Manna sits approximately 250 metres from the road behind a saltwater lake. It has a great stretch of sand and plenty of facilities for families. A kilometre beyond Tanca Manna is Barca Bruciata, a small sandy beach which is quiet with no facilities.

Cala Capra
Cala Capra beach just beyond Golfo delle Saline is a pretty sandy bay tucked beneath the impressive Capo D’Orso headland with its distinctive bear shaped weathered rock.

Capriccioli
The Capriccioli headland has five beautiful small sandy beaches. There are facilities for boat hire and also a bar close to the beach. These beaches, including La Celvia, are amongst the most popular in the area.

La Maddalena islands
Spend a day cruising around and swimming from these stunning islands – a favourite with those seeking tranquillity, natural beauty and unspoilt surroundings.

Corsica
Take the ferry from Santa Teresa di Gallura across to the neighbouring island of Corsica and visit the fortress town of Bonifacio.

Watersports
Discover the exquisite coastline from the sea and enjoy the excellent conditions of the north east coast for wind-surfing, sailing, diving, snorkelling, etc.

Prehistoric sites at Arzachena
Visit the prehistoric remains including the Albucciu Nuraghe – a bronze age tower, the Tomba dei Giganti Coddu Vecchiu and the Li Muri Necropolis, scattered around the town.

Porto Cervo
An up-market town and centre of indulgence, it is located around two yacht harbours on the north side of this dazzling stretch of coastline, and being the main resort of the area and a paradise for the jet-set, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Inland Gallura
Explore by car or on foot the dramatic mountains of the interior, the rugged countryside and the small character towns and villages. Alternatively, leave your car in Palau and take the stream train to Tempio Pausania, a spectacular journey across the Galluran countryside.
