An excellent mountain retreat with fabulous views of the southern coastline.

Poised in a spectacular spot, surveying the entire Gulf of Porto Vecchio and miles of ruggedly beautiful island landscape, Casa Mia provides the perfect escape for an invigorating break in the mountains.

It is located on the edge of l’Ospedale, a traditional hillside village and is 20-25 minutes’ drive from Porto Vecchio. Make the most of this wonderful region and discover some of the best kept secrets of Corsica: a walk to Punta di a Vacca Morta will reward you with jaw-dropping views encompassing the entire Extrême Sud coastline, the majestic needles of Bavella and the Valinco Gulf; whilst the walks to Piscia di Gallo, Polischellu and Purcaraccia offer something of a paradise with a series of emerald-green rock pools and picture-postcard waterfalls.

Return to Casa Mia after a day exploring where you will immediately feel at home – the accommodation is comfortable and stylishly arranged with a number of personal touches and a soft palette of colours for a calming effect. The house’s exterior features a superb summer kitchen as well as a private Jacuzzi offering the perfect venue to end the day in style, watch the sun go down and completely unwind. This little retreat is ideal for those looking to slow the pace and enjoy the delights of Porto Vecchio’s majestic hinterland.

About the Local Area

Set inland from the coast, Arzachena is a bustling market town with plenty of shops and services available. At the centre of town lies the Piazza Risorgimeto, a lively square surrounded by restaurants and bars. The area offers several hidden treasures including mysterious nuraghe (stone towers) ruins and giant tombs, arguably the best of their kind in Sardinia as well as some of the most attractive beaches.

Tanca Manna
Tanca Manna sits approximately 250 metres from the road behind a saltwater lake. It has a great stretch of sand and plenty of facilities for families. A kilometre beyond Tanca Manna is Barca Bruciata, a small sandy beach which is quiet with no facilities.

Cala Capra
Cala Capra beach just beyond Golfo delle Saline is a pretty sandy bay tucked beneath the impressive Capo D’Orso headland with its distinctive bear shaped weathered rock.

The Capriccioli headland has five beautiful small sandy beaches. There are facilities for boat hire and also a bar close to the beach. These beaches, including La Celvia, are amongst the most popular in the area.

Spiaggia del Principe
Rather off the beaten track is the Spiaggia del Principe which cannot be reached by car. The last stretch has to be done on foot takes under 10 minutes and is well worth the effort.
