Whilst many holidaymakers love to explore the different restaurants a city or town has to offer, it is equally great to stay in resort for an evening, enjoy delicious food and soak up the hotel’s atmosphere.
To help find the perfect place to stay, we have highlighted some of our favourite hotels with the best dining experiences.
Oliena | 4-star hotel
Hotel Su Gologone lies in the heart of Sardinia, surrounded by Mediterranean flora, with ancient olive trees and vineyards clinging to the slopes of the mountainous terrain. At Su Gologone, mealtimes are saturated with the fragrances and flavours of Barbagia, from Oliena honey to ravioli filled with local ricotta.
The main à la carte restaurant is spread across a terrace with stunning views and features classic Barbagia dishes, with much of the ingredients sourced from the hotel’s own farm.

À la carte Restaurant
In addition to this restaurant, Su Gologone offers two further dining experiences. With a pine tree at its centre, “Nido del Pane” or “Bread Nest” uses glass displays to showcase the artistry of Sardinia’s breads, and you can watch how Sardinian women have been making bread for centuries. During the experience, the women will prepare local, mouth-watering specialities for you to try, leaving you feeling fully integrated into Sardinian culture.
If you are looking to step even further back into time, the “Corte de Su Re” or “King’s Court”
will take you to the 17th century with its bricked floor and stone columns. Two evenings a week, guests are invited to enjoy some of Sardinia’s culinary traditions by candlelight, in the ancient technique of bread baking and spit-roasted meats, which, accompanied by the scents and flavours of the various herbs and spices, makes for a magical atmosphere.
