09 December 2009 - Sardinian Places - Press Office
Sardinian Places launches its new 2010 brochure this month, following its review of 2009 where bookings were up 67% year on year*.
Sardinian Places specialises in the North of the island, offering both self-catering and hotel options. A smaller selection of properties is offered in Central Sardinia and in the South. There is a range of self-catering, although the Sardinian Places trademark is the detached countryside villa with extensive secluded grounds and swimming pool, within easy drive of the coast and beaches. There are hotels to suit all tastes from the rustic farm hotel, to the more luxury hotel complete with thalasso and spa facilities.
Highlights of the new 2010 collection, include:
8 NEW Properties - The Sardinian Places 2010 portfolio features 8 new properties: 4 hotels and 4 self-catering choices.
These include:
- Casa Rosa, Cannigione - View
The three-bedroom Casa Rosa is a traditional Sardinian house located in the sought after resort of Cannigione. Perfect for a seaside holiday, the property is only a few minutes walk from sandy beaches, restaurants and markets, which line this bustling, authentically Sardinian port.
- Villa Salondra, Alghero - View
Another three-bedroom option, Sardinian Places believes Villa Salondra is the finest property it now offers in the North West. Nestled amongst the countryside and rolling hills just outside Alghero and complete with private pool, Villa Salondra affords panoramic views across the bay.
- Spiagge Sanpietro Hotel & Resort, Castiadas - View
The contemporary 4* Spiagge Sanpietro Hotel & Resort enjoys an enviable location situated between the coastline of the Costa Rei – an area on the south eastern coast of Sardinia renowned for its excellent white sand beaches and clear waters - and the Sarrabus mountain range.
- Hotel Corallo, Isola Rossa - View
Ideal for couples and honeymooners, the 4* Hotel Corallo is located on the waterfront, just a few minutes walk from the beach, in the small resort of Isola Rossa – a former fishing village positioned on the North coast of Sardinia between mountains and rocky headlands.
UK Flights to Sardinia
Sardinian Places predominantly operates bookings on an ‘accommodation-only’ basis because of the number of no-frills airlines servicing the island. However, charter, scheduled and no-frills flights, as well as car hire, can be booked by the tour operator on behalf of its clients.
Sardinian Places points out the reduced flight capacity into the island from the UK for the 2010 season (-32% on Saturday flights) and therefore encourages early booking to avoid lack of availability and potential price increases for late travel. However, new flight services have been announced by Sardatur (Cagliari) and bmibaby (Alghero).
Touring / Festivals
As the second largest island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia provides ample opportunity for exploration. Sardinian Places has marked within its brochure those hotels that are suitable for ‘Touring’ and is happy to discuss tailor made itineraries with its clients. Sardinia is also rich in festivities, which add that extra dimension to a trip. Ones to note include Calvalcata Sarda - a colourful celebration of Sardinian culture, which takes place every May in Sassari. This season (2010), 7 nights accommodation with Sardinian Places starts from £299 per person.
This price is based on a bed and breakfast stay at selected hotels, including the 4* Hotel Corallo in Isola Rossa and the 3* Hotel La Playa in central Alghero. Self-catering options start from £870 per property for the week staying at the two-bedroom Casa Cherchi, complete with private pool, located between Alghero and La Speranza beach.
Sardinian Places is offering a number of Early Booking Offers, valid for 2010 holidays booked by 31 January 2010. These include property discounts of up to £200 per week, savings of 10% per person on hotel stays, as well as free car hire upgrades. Conditions apply. * In 2008 Sardinian Places traded as ‘Voyages Ilena’ following its acquisition of the company in Autumn 2007. 2009 marked the first year of Sardinian Places presenting its own accommodation collection under its new company name of ‘Sardinian Places’. Please note that Sardinian Places is sister company to Corsican Places, which has 23 years experience of holidays to the Mediterranean.
