With good Mediterranean temperatures and unspoilt, clean and gently shelving beaches, it is an ideal choice for a traditional family summer holiday. Time spent with the family has always been an integral part of Italian life and wherever you go in Sardinia, people will be more then happy to see you with children. Eating out as a family is fully accepted and most places will go out of their way to accommodate different eating times and tastes. There is also a wide range of activities on the island to keep children occupied, including waterparks, train rides, horse and donkey riding to mountain biking and a good variety of watersports.
As a family, self-catering will offer you greater flexibility, from villas that offer plenty of space for the family to relax or run around, to residences for those who want to meet with other families around the pool. Foldable highchairs and travel cots (excluding cot linen) are provided free of charge in our self-catering properties, and baby and child car or booster seats in our hire cars (minimum age 6 months) should be requested at the time of booking (extra cost £40 each). Although hotels in Sardinia always welcome children, many hotels will charge for a cot or extra bed sharing a parent’s room and babysitting and baby-listening services are also not widely available.
