Many of the island’s villages also hold a fete or festival to celebrate its local crafts and produce, as well as religious or historical events. The fetes are the highlight of the village social scene and usually all villagers and their families become involved, visitors are welcomed to participate and tour the village.
There is a publication ‘guide des manifestations culturelles’ which gives listings of all the events but this is usually produced late after certain events have taken place. Instead we suggest looking out for posters and asking at tourist offices for more details.
