Hotel Su Gologone stands surrounded by oak, olive and juniper trees in stunning scenery below the towering limestone hills that range from Nuoro to the sea. The rooms are tastefully furnished blending perfectly Sardinian style with modern conveniences, and all have a balcony or shared sun terrace. While some rooms overlook the gardens, most have views over the spectacular forest-covered mountains. Su Gologone has a superb restaurant, which attracts gastronomes from all over the island. The focus is on traditional Sardinian specialities including “porchettu”, pork roasted on juniper wood spits for flavour. Also on offer is a variety of home-made pastas, breads and pastries and a choice of wines, including the very good local Oliena wine. Hotel Su Gologone is the ideal place to discover central Sardinia and its unspoilt beauty.
