Relais Villa del Borgo is a small and intimate boutique hotel that oozes sophistication and style on the south western coast of Sardinia. Tucked away between the popular resorts of Pula and Chia, this converted manor house exudes an air of understated luxury and boasts an enchanting setting amid peaceful and beautifully kept gardens. There are only 12 rooms here – all elegantly furnished and arranged with meticulous attention to detail, and each with a private terrace or balcony overlooking the pool or the garden area. There is also a small wellness centre exclusively for the hotel’s guests, with a hydro-massage pool, sauna, massage room and fitness room. Whilst there is no restaurant on site, there are a few highly recommended trattorias nearby, each one offering authentic cuisine and a genuine taste of Sardinian hospitability. And if you consider yourself a beach lover, the area will surely not disappoint: with its silky sand, white dunes and turquoise sea, Chia is one of the most attractive beach spots on the island, whilst Nora offers an exquisite horse-shoe bay lapped by crystal clear water.
